Qatar Refuses to Fund Reconstruction of Israeli-Damaged Gaza.Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has categorically ruled out using Qatari funds to reconstruct Gaza’s infrastructure destroyed by Israeli military operations. Speaking at the Doha Forum 2025 during an interview with American commentator Tucker Carlson on Sunday, the Qatari leader stated that while his country will continue and expand humanitarian assistance to ease Palestinian suffering, it will not finance the rebuilding of what he described as destruction deliberately caused by Israel. “We will continue to support the Palestinian people and do everything to alleviate their hardship,” Sheikh Mohammed said, adding, “But we are not going to write checks to reconstruct the damage caused by others.” The statement marks one of the strongest public positions taken by Qatar since the latest escalation, reinforcing Doha’s long-standing policy of providing direct aid to Gaza’s residents while rejecting responsibility for costs incurred by Israel’s military campaigns.
