On November 21, 2025, a serious grizzly bear attack took place in a remote area of northern British Columbia, Canada, resulting in injuries to 11 individuals. The victims—nine secondary school students and two adults—were part of a 33-member group participating in a sanctioned outdoor education program near the community of Mackenzie. According to joint statements from the RCMP and the BC Conservation Officer Service, an adult grizzly bear initiated an unprovoked attack along a forested trail. The animal was deterred by bear spray and subsequently located and euthanized by authorities later that day.
